I was thinking that so many of you aren't quite there yet with being old enough to vote, but that doesn't mean your opinion matters any less.
It would be nice to see some of your opinions on which nominee you would vote for and why. Feel free to use sources to back up what you're saying as long as the site is appropriate.
If you're going to engage in debate, there are some rules:
Respect each others' opinions. If you happen to think someone has an opinion that is not fully educated feel free to show reliable sources that may prove that opinion wrong. But be nice!
If something you said is proven to be false, don't get angry, go find some sources to uphold your side of things.
No putting each other down. Everyone is entitled to an opinion whether or not you like their opinion.
No swearing please. I realize this topic gets heated, so I feel like if I let the little swears through eventually someone will come through with a big'un.
No threats, joking or otherwise.
Respect, respect, and you guessed it! Cookies! No, respect. You can't expect respect for yourself if you don't give it.
So if any post on here gets too mean, disrespectful, or just plain out of hand, you can expect me to use the delete function. If everyone bee-haves, this won't happen.
All topics related to the Presidential election are welcome. But please be mindful of the feelings of those posting here.

Why bother? The way I see it; if the gods had wanted us to vote, they would have provided us with candidates.
ReplyDeleteLmao! Thanks mreko! I've been so lonely here...
ReplyDeleteBrought you some dinner, Az, since you can't leave your post.
ReplyDeleteOh nom nom. Thanks! I am honestly thinking of just deleting this. No one is posting, so there's nothing to moderate, but I can imagine going to bed tonight and waking up to a bunch of badness.
DeleteI haven't been following this election very well. I probably should have, considering I'm taking a class on government and law. :/
ReplyDeleteThen it would probably be too much like homework Com. I would fill you in, but I assume people would call a bias since I am in favor of one and totally against the other.
DeleteI agree. I will probably pay attention next election as I will be able to vote then.
DeleteI thought I'd pay more attention when I came of age, but I tend to only pay attention when it is between someone I despise and someone I can live with.... well that's pretty much all elections so nvm lol
DeleteScratch that idea! Haha. :)
DeleteAccording to weather.com (I'm not sure if its accuracy), Romney is leading with 153 electoral votes, and Obama with 128. Romney also appears to be winning the popular vote.
I'm not sure of* its accuracy, sorry, I'm tired. :)
DeleteI see 158 Obama to 154 Romney, that's electoral and it's here:
Deletehttp://elections.huffingtonpost.com/2012/results
But it continues to change as the votes are counted
I compared the two, and they seem to be the same. It's really hard to tell who's going to win.
DeleteHonestly, I doubt we'll get an answer tonight. And I am afraid if it does come tonight it will be the one I am dreading.
DeleteUnfortunately, whatever the outcome is, it is impossible to please everyone, and with the votes so close I imagine many will be very upset.
DeleteThat's very true. On the other hand though, the fate of the rights of women, the lower and middle class, and gay people hang on tonight's election and it's outcome.
DeleteThere have been elections that were too close to call in the past, but none recently where so much is at stake.
You make a good point. (Maybe I'm a little more informed than I thought!)
DeleteFrom the looks of it, it seems you're right and we probably won't get an answer tonight.
So Obama wins with 274 Electoral Votes
DeleteYep. I just heard.
DeletePLEEEEZE!Considering who he was running against, was there EVER any doubt as to whom the winner would be?
ReplyDeleteWell if you just consider how close the vote was, I think there was.
DeleteCome on mreko, don't tell me you weren't a little freaked out towards the middle there. It seemed like it could go either way til Obama made that huge jump in electoral votes. I was losing a grip the whole time lol.
DeleteI need food, been glued here all day.
DeleteEnjoy your food! I, on the other hand, need sleep. Good night!
