 UPDATE: Some people have been asking if they can use the same scene they used with the current Shelter scene contest. Nuuu! Lol, seriously though, since we have a theme, I would like you to submit to me a different scene, especially since I'm not the shelter and you're donating the scenes.

Also people have been not realizing, there is a theme for this contest. ALL ENTRIES no matter what category, should use the theme. The theme again is "Cyska's First Birthday"

Yes, I am a few days late lol, this should have been posted on July 3rd, the birthday of Cyska. Hard to believe it's been a whole year gone by. I'm so happy I've gotten to be a part of such a wonderful community of folks who open their hearts and are so giving and sweet to one another.

I have some rare items in my inventory, and it's been awhile since I had a contest.

So I would like to do a Cyska Birthday Art and Writing Contest.

I have 4 categories for ya'll.

1st category - Sketching
2nd Category - Vector Art
3rd Category - Story or Poem
4th Category - Scene Contest

Here is how this will work:

Rules:

• You may only enter from one account. So if you have a previously approved side, please either post from your main OR your side, but not both
• One entry per person PER CATEGORY - This means that you can enter something for each category if you wish to, but you may only have one entry for each category
• Sketching is going to be drawing something offline and either scanning it and uploading it or taking a picture of it and uploading that picture. It can be pencil, ink, paint, whatever you want to use. Go nuts! Please only use your own work. Anything that is not solely your own sketch will be disqualified.
• Vector Art is drawing something with a program such a Photoshop or GIMP or something else. It doesn't matter which program you use as long as it is all your own work. I know some people don't know how to do stuff like this which is why I made the sketching category separate.  Please only use your own work. Anything that is not solely your own work will be disqualified. This means that you cannot just go and Google a background and start layering things together. I know this makes it more difficult for some, but it's better than finding out something you used had a copyright.
• Poem or Story is just how it sounds. You can write a poem or a short story for this category. Please keep stories to 3 - 4 paragraphs or less. I can only read so much lol.
  Please only use your own work. Anything that is not solely your own writing will be disqualified.
• Scene Contest again is just what it sounds like. Using items from the Shop, make a scene that is relevant to the contest subject matter. 
• The subject of all of the categories is "Cyska's First Birthday".  
• Make sure all material is appropriate for a 13 and up site. I am asking for no swearing in the writing, no inappropriate pictures. Please use common sense, if there is something you're unsure about, it's probably not okay. If you are really unsure, you can ask me.
• Please send all entries at one time. So if you plan to do something for each of the 4 categories, please be sure that you send all at once. Please send these to my email addy which is Azkani.Karma@yahoo.com. Any entries not sent to my email will not be accepted. If there is some reason you can't email me, we may be able to work out something else, but please ask.
• For Scene entries, please send the link to the scene. 
• All Drawing entries, please try to keep your art to 440px wide by 440 px tall. It can be a little above or a little below, but please not huge. I'd like for nothing to go off the forum page so people can easily see your work. If you need to size a picture down, I know that most sites like Photobucket have a place you can edit it. If the dimensions are small, just try to make sure that we can easily see the details of your work.
• Each category will have one winner. Each winner will receive a Rare Shop item worth 100CD. In the event that there is only one entry in a category, the person who enters will automatically win. I would like to have different winners for each category so everyone gets a chance. In the event of a tie, if one of the two have won in another category, the second person will be chosen. 

So how do we decide who wins? I would like for the whole site to get in on this one. So I will be posting each category as it's own thread, and when the contest ends, each entry will be posted on the appropriate thread. I will have everyone vote for their favorites, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd so that if there are people who are overlapping in categories, everyone gets a better chance at winning something. 

In order to give people plenty of time to work on their submissions, the contest will begin today, July 7th, and it will end on August 3rd at 11:59PM EST. Any submissions that are given after that date and time will not be accepted. The threads and voting will start on August 4th which is a Sunday. I can't give a specific time for the threads, but they will all be up that day. I will leave voting open until August 7th which is a Wednesday. Hopefully we'll get lots of people entering and lots of people voting on this one. If we don't get enough people voting, I'll end up having to pick winners myself, and I'd prefer it to be based on a consensus instead of just my opinion.

Come Try Your Hand at Cyska's Easter Egg Decorating Contest!

Cyska Siberians is hosting an Easter Egg Decorating Contest - Details:

Prizes:

There will be a total of eight winners and the 

prize for each winner will be 100CD and the use 

of your egg design on this site.

Instructions:  

Decorate the egg image provided using a

digital paint program (i.e. Photoshop, 

GIMP, etc.)  

The artwork must stay within the original 

dimensions of the egg image (540 pixels wide 

x 405 pixels tall) and should be focused on the 

egg.

The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, March 27th, 2013

Cyska Siberians is now accepting applications for more moderators. This is in anticipation of the potential release of a Debate Forum.

Some good qualities to have for this position:

• - not easily insulted or provoked

• - fair

• - online a lot

• - must be able to spot if someone is abusing the forum (fighting, name calling, being rude, bullying, etc.) and not just delete posts because you disagree with what the poster is saying

• - also, having a thorough understanding of the forum rules is a definite plus

Mreko's St. Patty's Day Contest!

Hey all! Just wanted to let you guys know, if you haven't already seen it that mreko2005 is hosting a 5 week long contest to celebrate St. Patrick's Day! So get out your green tophats and let's have us some fun!

Contest Info:

• A mini-contest will be held each week for three weeks. 
• Participants this week are to submit an Irish saying. You may post as many times as you like, but your name will only be submitted to the drawing once each week
• At the end of each week (this one ending Sunday 2.24.13 a 11:59 PM EST, winner announced on the 25th), one name will be selected at random and this person will receive 100 CD.

Free Torbie Contest!

 Important! Please read this page in its entirety before participating in the contest. There are some rules that need to be followed to give everyone a fair chance to win. 

Important Update - 1/27 - I will actually be closing this now on February 1st at 11:59 PM EST. There will not be a question on the 1st, but I want everyone to have a full day to answer the last question that I post. 1/31 Breeding Question: Well today is the last day of the contest! (The last day that I will be posting a riddle anyhow, the contest technically ends tomorrow), so I will be asking a special breeding question:

I have a Female Solid Tortoiseshell cat and a Male Orange Tabby. I plan to breed them to get kittens. There will be 4 kittens to the litter.

If the female is aa, Oo  and the male is AA, OY what are the four kittens that will be produced from this litter?

Please list the following - The phenotype of cat (such as Tortie), the gender of each kitten, and genotype each kitten will have (such as Aa, Oo). If you have any questions about this, please feel free to email me. Good luck! You will not be told if your answers are correct until the contest ends, however if you leave out a piece of one of the answers, such as gender for the kittens, you will be told which part you left out and will be asked to send the full answer.

One last UPDATE: Sorry if this was not clear, but people are not putting this in their answers and it is extremely important that you do. I need to know if the kittens are Tabby or Solid. Well it's 2013, and since Cyska launched in July, we have seen a lot of fabulous features and kitties roll out!

I imagine this year will be the year that we see breeding and Cyska and Sawyer only know what else. It's going to be a blast, and I am very happy to be in it from the beginning.

Just to go over what we have seen this year:

Cyska Siberians began with 3 breeds of cats - The Black Mackerel Tabby, Cinnamon Mackerel Tabby, and Chocolate Mackerel Tabby. The Cinnamon and Chocolate are no longer being made. But since July these breeds have been introduced:

• Solid Black
• Solid Orange
• Tortoiseshell Mackerel Tabby
• Orange Mackerel Tabby

• User friendly dashboard with easy drop down menus to navigate the site faster
• Food amounts on Play page and at the top of page
• Ledger for Cydollars and Purrpoints, added 400 PP's each day for logging in
• 2 major decorating overhauls - The 2nd one actually has the ability to sell whole scenes!
• PayPal Gift Certificates
• Gifting was enabled just in time for Christmas! The feature was even made so that it wraps gifts (with a ton of options for the wrapping paper) and can be timed as to what date you wish them to be opened

And there have been a ton of extras and contests from both Admin and players:

• Trick Or Treating for food that made the feed animation different and scary!
• Halloween Scene Contest
• Santa Claws and the Reincats showed up for the holiday season and passed out many gifts. People were allowed to make Wishlists and received one item from this and also got little extras throughout the holiday season
• Two major CD sales, one for Black Friday (and also item sales), and one that ran from December 21st to December 31st

There were also a bunch of Moderator and Player run contests, but if I tried to list em all, I'd probably endup missing them. I'm sure there is a ton of stuff that I have missed listing. It's been a whirlwind half a year, and already Cyska Siberians has made a wonderful name as a site that cares deeply for it's customers and listens as well. I cannot wait to see what this year brings!
